2) OSSA Confined Space Entry/Monitor is an Alberta BC Safety course (an OSSA Licensed Provider). The lead instructor — Arliss T.E.Levine, CRSP, CHSC, B.A. is with Allstar Enviro Safety training and is an accredited contract instructor through ABCS.
Description: Confined spaces are high hazard environments that frequently disable or kill workers entering them throughout North American workplaces. These spaces may have restricted entrances or exits or have atmospheric hazards that are not immediately apparent. Gas and chemical hazards that have acute or chronic effects are H2S, Oxygen deficiency and enrichment, Carbon Monoxide, Ammonia and Benzene.This could lead to flammable, explosive, corrosive or toxic environments. Confined spaces might have physical hazards such as rotating or reciprocating equipment, overhead hazards, slippery surfaces and electrocution or extreme weather conditions. Workers may become complacent if these conditions are not visible or difficult to detect with their own senses. There may be limited access or egress, making it difficult to perform an effective rescue. Part 5 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act is covered in this theory program. Both Entrants and Monitor responsibilities are highlighted. This is a 6 hour plus seminar.

Certification: 3 year certificate awarded upon successful completion of program and exam . 3) OSSA Fall Protection is an accredited course taught only by instructors who are authorized providers from Astec Safety Inc, a licensed OSSA provider.
Its methodology is designed to meet the OSSA standards. ( Oil Sands Safety Association and is to be used on Member sites as well as any workplace that wishes to meet the high standard set out by this organization.
Content includes:Fall Protection theory and statistics, Fall protection, arrest and restraint systems, the ABC’s of Fall protection, Fall Protection Plan and Rescue plan Calculation of the physics of a fall including Free Fall Distance, Total Fall Distance, Clearance and Maximum Arrest Force. Applicable legislation , Part 9 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, Code of Practice and industry recommended practices
8 hour plus course including controlled weight transfer, inspection of equipment and harness training. 3 year certificate upon successful completion of program through Astec.
Bring government issued picture i.d. Harnesses can be brought but are optional.
CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY: Cancellation can be done UP to 5 business days prior to the seminar for a Full refund less a docking fee for credit card transactions . Such requests must be made by phone, via a confirmed conversation with the Allstar Enviro Safety representative or in writing (email or letter that is confirmed as received).
Students who register WITHIN the 5 business days prior to the seminar can submit a request in writing (email or letter that is confirmed as received) to the Allstar Enviro Safety representative for a one month credit for that course or one of equal value. Qualified substitutions of candidates can attend the program instead, with permission of the Instructor.
Students who withdraw the day before the class without substitution will forfeit their payment. Students who do not attend the course with no notice or are over 30 minutes late will forfeit their payment.
Allstar Enviro Safety and it’s representatives assume the right to cancel or substitute a course in which minimum registration is not met or for unforeseen circumstances. We will make our best effort to rebook the program, when possible and to advise the students or employers of the cancellation or date change.
