OVERVIEW:
Blended learning is an exciting concept in acquiring your First aid certification. It is an innovative program in which the student completes the theory portion of the First aid program online, followed by a classroom day where they complete their physical skills with a certified instructor. In this manner, the student can achieve their Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid with CPR A or C and AED. Recertification: If your last course certificate has not expired, you may qualify for a shorter recertification. Send proof of up to date ticket. You may qualify for a shorter classroom training package without the blended online program. Blended online courses saves the student having to spend a longer time in the classroom, but still achieves a Workplace- recognized First aid course (Occupational Health and Safety – oriented) in provinces, such as Alberta.. The certificate of training is valid for 3 years.

At time of registeration, you can book your classroom day and receive a map for the location. The price quoted includes your online and classroom training. This program is a very convenient way for an individual to learn first aid skills.
- The online portion saves the student valuable time and can be broken up in several segments to suit the students schedule. They can complete the theory in their own home or workplace at a time that is suitable for them. This results in less need for transportation to a classroom, meals or accommodations, as you learn in the comfort of your own office or home.
- To meet the provincial standard and receive a Workplace recognition, students can conduct their physical skills, such as CPR, Choking and bandaging with the helpful guidance of a certified instructor in a classroom setting.
- We specialize in small student ratios to provide lots of hands on time to do the physical skills and receive individualized attention.
- For the general public, this program will demonstrates how to prevent and handle family, sports and home emergencies in an effective way.
- For those who require a workplace recognized program, this is a terrific learning tool. The in-class portion highlights common industrial accidents and risk prevention.
- All students will be taught essential information to help them respond quickly and suitably to sudden injuries or medical emergencies. The innovative learning tools they receive combine a number of powerful techniques to embrace this first aid knowledge

There are two components to the Blended Online program:
a) ONLINE PORTION
The online version presents modules on first aid topics using interactive videos. The online portion has a verifiable testing procedure. No need for transportation to a classroom, meals or accommodations, as you learn in the comfort of your own office or home. The online learning section takes one day to acheive. Answer the quiz for each section .. Print out the online certificate ofcompletion report and email it to Allstar Enviro Safety at info@safetyclasses.ca Print it out and bring to the classroom to be part of the hands-on practical day.
b) CLASSROOM PORTION

The hands on standard first aid skills are one day in length. It is a Workplace Government approved course in several provinces, including Alberta.

CERTIFICATION:
This program was designed by the Canadian Red Cross Courses are taught by an approved instructor from Allstar Enviro Safety who are Training Partners with the Red Cross. It is approved as a Workplace First Aid program in Alberta . Certificates are valid for 3 years. The Red Cross will send you a link to start the online course, if you have a unique email address. Once completed the classroom portion, they will send you an invitation link for the final Wallet card and Wall plaque.

FAQ
1) What is blended learning standard first aid?
The student has to complete a computer-based learning module on standard first aid with the Red Cross. This is self paced and consists of first aid theory. Once passed, send the online confirmation to the instructor.
Set a day to come into the classroom to complete the physical skills. You receive your 3 year certificate.
2) What is the teaching time for first aid?
This comprehensive blended program is 13 – 14 hours. It includes theory on standard first aid on the computer. Following successful completion, the classroom version one day. In total, the blended version would be equivalent to 2 classroom days.
3) What is first aid/CPR?
First aid includes emergency which is one day or Standard which is 2 days. This always include CPR- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. A 3 year ticket can be obtained through the Red Cross. With the blended online version, part of the emergency or standard courses are done online in a self paced style. The student completes the physical skills in a classroom, booked by appointment.

AllstarEnviroSafety greatly values your business. In order to provide consistency and equality for all our students and clients, exceptions to the following policies will not be offered.
COVID 19 Policy
Please do not attend the class if you have COVID 19 symptoms. Wearing masks is optional and at your own discretion.
Refund / Transfer and No Show Policies:
To be eligible for a full refund or to transfer to a new course, notification in writing, must be received no less than five (5)business days prior to the start date (excluding the day of the course).
If you are ill, a medical note can be sent for credit or course date transfer, upon our discretion. No shows without 5 days written notice or late arrivals (over 15 minutes) will not be refunded.
On-line Courses - All registrations are final and no Refunds are available.
AllstarEnviro Safety Course Cancellations:
AllstarEnviroSafety reserves the right to cancel classes. Cancellation notices are via email or phone. In the unlikely event that your training course does not take place after your booking has been confirmed, we will make every effort to reschedule the course and you will be offered an alternative date to take the course issued.
Blended first aid courses can not be refunded. Once the link is sent to a client, we cannot obtain a refund from the First aid institution.
Prerequisite Policy:
A course prerequisite: any requirement a program identifies as necessary for a student to have successfully completed before taking the course. For example, H2S Alive, Common Safety Orientation and Ground Disturbance require that you bring government issued picture i.d. to the class. For recertification of CPR and First Aid, H2S Alive Blended Renewal. It is a requirement to send us the ticket to prove that the card has not expired yet.
It is the right of AllstarEnviro Safety and/or the instructor to cancel a student's registration in a course if the student has not satisfied the published prerequisites for the course. Failure to provide proof of prerequisites on the day of the training will result in a full forfeit of course fees. Students are ultimately responsible for knowing and adhering to course prerequisites.
Third Party Registrations and Payments (companies, parents, spouses, friend, etc.)
As a third-party registrant, you agree to these policies on behalf of the student. It is the third party’s responsibility to ensure that all communication for the program is received by the student. AllstarEnviroSafety will not release any of the Student’s personal information, to the third party without the Student’s prior written consent including grades, or copies of tickets.
Inherent Risk
Some risk is inherent in all courses. Many programs include lifting, hanging from a tripod, putting on breathing apparatus, rescuing and doing compressions repeatedly. By enrolling and participating in these courses, it is understood that you are aware of this element of risk and accept it as an integral part of the activity. For those of you with any limitations, please identify them at the time of registration so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
Cell phones, Cameras and Electronic devices
For the protections of our student’s privacy, the use of personal electronic devices for recording, photographing and video purposes is strictly prohibited. Please use electronic devices respectfully in all areas.
Literacy
Our programs require a certain level of literacy and a grasp of the English language to pass. Most programs do not accommodate an oral exam. In addition, please bring your necessary hearing aids and glasses so that the student can grasp the program being delivered.
Behavior Policy
AllstarEnviroSafety strives to provide our students with a safe and appropriate environment to facilitate learning. If AllstarEnviro Safety staff determine that a student’s behavior is disruptive or threatening, the staff may take any action he or she deems prudent to protect themselves. This can include discussing the matter with the student, asking the student to leave or calling the police.
