Biological Hazards – CAN Online Course

Online Safety Courses Calgary

Price : $49.99

COURSE OVERVIEW

Biological hazards, such as bacteria, viruses, moulds, and the germs people carry, are some of the most overlooked risks on the job. They are invisible, and they show up in far more kinds of work than most people expect, from healthcare and cleaning to landscaping, food handling, and childcare. Staying safe does not require a science background. It comes down to two skills: recognizing when a task might expose you to a biological hazard, and knowing how to respond when it does.

By the end of this course, learners should be able to:

  • Define what a biological hazard is
  • Describe the four ways biological hazards enter the body
  • Identify the main types of biological hazards and where they are found
  • Recognize when a task may carry a biological hazard risk
  • Explain how to respond when a task may be risky, including how to control it and when to report it
  • List the steps to take if you are exposed
