COURSE OVERVIEW
As Indigenous peoples have a long history before Canada even existed, we cannot address every topic, but this course will spark interest for you to learn more about the many cultures within Canada.
This online course is composed of five chapters. These chapters include:
- Chapter 1: Names and Peoples
- Chapter 2: Consequences of Colonization
- Chapter 3: Applying Traditional Knowledge to Current Topics
- Chapter 4: Myths and Stereotypes about Indigenous Cultures
- Chapter 5: Working Together
Upon completion, you will be presented with a final exam to test your knowledge.
COURSE TOPICS
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Understand more about the many bright and vibrant Indigenous cultures around you today
- Understand the importance of storytelling for Indigenous peoples and how this is being used in Canada to solve current issues
- Identify common myths and stereotypes about Indigenous peoples
- Learn more about the benefits of understanding other cultures at the workplace
ONLINE COURSE DURATION
Approximately 60 minutes
PASS MARK
A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion for this Canadian Indigenous Cultures course. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
