COURSE OVERVIEW
This lesson will present the hazards posed by confined spaces, the basic requirements for entry into a permit required confined space, and the safe practices for working in a permit required confined space.
Upon successful completion of this course, you should have a better understanding of:
- Characteristics and examples of a confined space
- Potential hazards of a permit required confined space
- The differences between a permit required confined space and a non-permit required confined space, as well as the criteria for reclassifying a confined space
- Your employer’s responsibility to establish and implement safety procedures and protocols for working in and around permit required confined spaces
- The criteria on an entry permit
- Hazard controls that must be established prior to entering a permit required confined space
- The responsibilities of personnel who work in or attend permit-confined spaces

PASS MARK
Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
