COURSE OVERVIEW
Working around known sources of Asbestos fibres present dangers to your health. To protect yourself, specific personal protective equipment, best practices, and strategies must be used. This course walks you through these requirements for Asbestos.
Information relating to Asbestos will be presented in four chapters:
- Chapter 1: Defining Asbestos
- Chapter 2: Health Hazards
- Chapter 3: Establishing a Safe Workplace
- Chapter 4: Employer and Employee Responsibilities
Upon completion, you will be presented with a final exam to test your knowledge.
COURSE TOPICS
In today’s training, we’ll discuss the various methods, controls, and equipment used to protect yourself against these dangerous particles in the workplace. By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Define asbestos where it may still be found
- Name different provincial regulations associated with asbestos
- Recognize the health impacts of exposure to these particles
- Identify engineering and administrative controls used to protect you against asbestos
- Understand what PPE is required
- Explain procedures in the event of accidental exposure

PASS MARK
A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion for this online Asbestos training course. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
